Concrete Dreams
Our client had a house they loved but everything was beige. They wanted something more modurn but not overpowering. They loved the leathered - textured- feel of the "Concrete Storm" Quartz and wanted something to complement the benchtop. So we paired it with Sage "Lookcrete Loutro" doors and panels. The light concrete look reflected the lighter tones of the quartz perfectly. Finishing with simple chrome handles and trim gave the room an extra "wow."
Country Kitchen
This beautiful country kitchen was perfect for a house in the middle of a beautiful country.
The client wanted something modurn but that still had a country "feel" to it, without going for alot of wood.
Here we used a Dezignatek Thermoform door in the "Kawhia" style wrapped in "Super matt Peltro." Topped off with 30mm "Crystel white" quartz and finised with a stunning splashback, this is a lovely space to work in.
Modern Classic
Once again this client had a home they loved but no longer loved the green kitchen. Working with the existing rooms angles and servery made it interesting. We also wanted to ensure that the planked rimu ceiling remained a feature. Sage Arcymatte "Coconut" doors and a laminate benchtop fitted the brief well.
The client was also concious that they were getting a bit older so we used Blum systems and hardware to provide some clever storage solutions. We installed Blum Tandombox Antaro softclose pantry drawers. These are rated for 30kg or upgrade to 50kg and can store so much. Next to the stove was the Blum bottlestore. a clever pullout that keeps all your oils and spices nice and handy and organised. Blum Orgaline cutlery systems finished this off perfectly.
Installing senser lights in the pantry and an LED strip light above the coffee station provided the perfect finishing touches.
Bus Conversion
Recently SIA Design was approached to work on some cabinetry for a bus which was going to become a tiny home for a family.
Wow! what an opportunity to do something a bit different...and what a challenge.
Firstly, the cabinetry had to be light. Standard melamine with MDF core gets very heavy and when you're putting a lot in a bus that equals more fuel consumption. So, we used white HPL on ply. This is an awesome product which we often use in sink cabinets because it's a bit more water resistant than melamine. Ply is also lovely and light and the white HPL finish made it easy to wipe down. In this case we left the edges "raw" so the client could see the lovely ply grain, this was then oiled and sealed using Danish oil to give a water resistant and shiny finish. Secondly...storage and space saving. The kitchen in this case needed to serve several purposes. Cook and serve food, store all the kitchen items and still look good because this kitchen is quite literally the "heart" of the home. We also needed to cover the wheel arches - not a normal problem in a house! We solved this by making the kitchen quite deep. It covered the wheel arches but also gave deep drawers on heavy duty ball bearing runners. Each runner is rated to carry 50kg. This means that the drawers could be pulled all the way out to store less used items in the back but at the front was your day-to-day - like cutlery. Even the toe kicks (bottom of the cabinet) were used by fitting "flap doors" which would open to store small items. The look. The clients were really happy with the white cabinetry with black sink and handles and they really wanted a wooden benchtop. Once again weight was an issue. Plus, this was deeper then general so the benchtop would have to be made. We used Acacia wood and joined planks together; then oiled and sealed the benchtop with Danish oil. There would be 8 coats of Danish oil to seal it and get the required finish.
In the end the clients are very happy and off on their adventures very soon.

Veneer Vanity
Loving this Veneer vanity.
Our client wanted a wood which would work with her existing fixtures. Plymasters "Beam Oak Bronze" veneer fitted perfectly and just like a tree, is not perfect with its random knots - just the look our client wanted. Teamed with 30mm "Blanco white" quartz and black and white basin this vanity has become a beautiful long lasting feature.
